Construction of The Pagoda - Preliminary Engineering

On August 19, 1999, a permission for building of the Pagoda and Dhamma Dormitory was granted  by the Township of Manalapan and the State of New Jersey.  The cost will probably be estimated at least one Million dollars.

The Preliminary Engineering Design Drawings for Pagoda are shown below.  The Design is achieved by U Maung Maung, U Kyaw Min and U Kyi Hlaing (Myanmar Engineer/Architect), Mr. Arnandar (Sari Lankan Architect) and Mr. Steven R. Kiely (American Architect).  The Design is near to be accomplished and the Building of the Pagoda will be followed soon.

In order to build a monument of Buddhism and Burmese culture and to promote the teachings of the Buddha and the practice of Insight Meditation (Vipassana), as much as you could comfortably afford, we urge you to contribute to the fund for building the Pagoda and the Dhamma Dormitory.

To dedicate, honor and celebrate more than 2500 years of Buddhism, we will enshrine more than 2500 statues of the Lord Buddha in the Pagoda. The means of contributions include offering $500 for each statue of the Lord Buddha, offering towards the elements of the Pagoda and the dormitory, even if it is only towards one brick, one grain of sand or one tile of roof and we urge you to contribute as far as your means allow.

Please write your check pay to the order of The America Burma Buddhist Association (ABBA) and send it to: 619 Bergen Street, Brooklyn, NY 11238, USA or 63 Gordons Corner Road, Manalapan, NJ 07726, USA.
